LiD is a 28 week after school program that engages youth to learn the importance of diversity and being a leader in their community. Youth put into action their leadership skills and gain valuable experience by planning events and activities they identify with and choose to undertake (e.g., a traditional “Day of Silence” or “Transgender Day of Remembrance”, tabling at school and community events, etc.)
This program is currently in three Oakland schools:
Claremont Middle School
Life Academy High School
Street Academy High School
Funding Source: Oakland Fund for Children and Youth (OFCY)
